Observe the Found

Just like I enjoy hole in the wall restaurants, I enjoy hole in the wall vintage shops as well.  Today on my way home from Downtown, LA I saw this cute crochet top on the mannequin that looked like perfect Coachella attire.  I parked the car and went into the store; it looked slightly unhip and unfinished but I took a look anyway and found great pieces at some serious low prices.   I had been so sick of second hand stores that are lined up on Melrose and Fairfax, and Vermont etc. etc... I forgot how amazing (and INEXPENSIVE) they can be.  I liked that it was simple, not overflowing with clothes, and smelled --normal (no grungy pre-worn smell).

So I'm glad to say I bought the white crochet top that caught my eye in the first place.

As well as this awesomely unique looking mesh/poly dress that can be turned into a skirt; will be perfect for a black tie event, or couture fashion shoot if ever I need.

They're having a bin sale this weekend...so go, go, go!

Item of the week

My favorite buy of this week is the most simple yet amazingly fabulous tank top I bought from H&M.

Initially it was bought for a photo shoot I was styling; after the shoot I tried on the tank top and decided it was a keeper.  The fabric is insanely light and comfortable, the color is neutral and extremely matchable, and it can be worn casual during the day, or tied up in the back to shorten, thrown on heavy jewelry and skinny jeans to wear on a night out.  Comes in an array of colors and the deal breaker?  $5.95!  Yes, really.   Check it out below..

Red Carpet Looks*

Miss Ericka Atwell.  Dress: Seduce, Necklace: Forever 21, Shoes: Michael Kors.  Mix and match designers and pricing ALWAYS!  If you can't borrow Harry Winston just yet, remember the red carpet is the only time you want to be seen in certain outfits/jewelry.  Don't invest too much!

Why I chose this look: Ericka was there to interview guests attending the event.  She needed to be dressed to the nines, but didn't want to outshine the guests to remain professional.  I wanted to accentuate the positive and hide what she isn't the most comfortable with.  She has been working hard on her arms and abs, so a tight fitted dress that cuts off just at the mid thigh was perfect.  It elongated her legs without showing more than she wanted.  The one arm and deep cut in the back gave it a sex appeal but nothing over the top or... slutty.  It was simple, edgy, classy, and fun!  The perfect choice for any red carpet look.

Enjoy a quick glimpse at what I styled miss Atwell in:
